Guitarist Chet Atkins recalls two of country music's best-known figures, Jim Reeves and Fred Rose. His discussion of Jim Reeves includes memories from his work with Reeves and comments on Reeve's international appeal and continuing popularity. His discussion of Fred Rose focuses on Rose's songwriting and song crafting techniques and includes the story behind "Chattanoogie Shoe Shine Boy."

Chester Burton Atkins (June 20, 1924 – June 30, 2001), also known as "Mr. Guitar" and "The Country Gentleman", was an American musician who, along with Owen Bradley and Bob Ferguson, helped create the Nashville sound, the country music style which expanded its appeal to adult pop music fans.
